Christmas is near and so are all things festive and fun affiliated with it. From 6 December to 24 December 2019, revel in Christmas festivities at Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES, both sited in the vibrant downtown Civic District and merely a stone’s throw apart.
Capitol Singapore is proudly transforming into a festive wonderland and transporting visitors to one of the largest European-themed Christmas Markets in Singapore, complete with food stalls, game booths, seasonal trinkets to shop and an ice skating rink to complete the winter feel. CHIJMES is welcoming visitors to its Instagram Wonderland, with festive installations that will make the best backdrop for holiday snaps, and laser projection shows of iconic Christmas scenes set to captivate and enthrall.
Capitol Singapore Gets Ready for a Christmas Market with its First-ever Singing Tree
Indulge in the rich festive spirit and cheer at Capitol Singapore’s Outdoor Plaza, which will be transformed into a European-inspired Capitol Kempinski Christmas Market. Over 50 festive booths selling Christmas goodies like panetonne, log cakes, stollen, chilled mulled wine and more await to transport you to a Christmas wonderland, including 20 booths by The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore. Shop for your holiday gifts or Christmas-themed souvenirs at the array of fashion and lifestyle booths, with items such as jewellery, accessories and decorative ornaments on offer.
Centre to it all will be the eight-metre tall giant Capitol Kempinski Singing Tree, the first-ever at Capitol Singapore. It comes to life by the voices of over 30 carollers, who will be singing live carols for you and your loved ones on schedule. Bring the children as they will delight in the Capitol Kempinski Christmas Skating Rink while you indulge in the festivities.
Not to be missed is the traditional log house set up for the occasion where on select dates, you can catch Santa Claus and snag a photo with him. He has some surprises in store ahead of Christmas Day in the form of surprise gifts so keep an eye out! Every evening, catch the snow fall at three different hours for the perfect winter Insta-moment when you visit. There will also be game booths for the young and young at heart, all coming together to present the perfect holiday photo backdrop for you and your loved ones. CHIJMES creates an Instagram Wonderland with festive art installations and laser projection shows featuring Christmas scenes
CHIJMES Transforms into an Instagram Wonderland
CHIJMES, one of the top food and beverage, and lifestyle destinations in the Civic District, is also joining in on the festivities with an Instagram Wonderland for you to indulge in all your selfie pleasure. Providing that perfect setting are seven Art Installations designed to the festive theme for you to photograph to your heart’s content.
On intervals, there will also be a Laser Projection Show that will display festive animations on the façade of the historic CHIJMES Hall. Have your breath taken away by scenes of Christmas from the olden days where chapels and traditional wooden houses are aplenty, decorated by Santa’s helper elves for the holidays. If you look closely, you will also spot Santa waving at you from the balcony! Other scenes include that of a snowy kingdom of the Ice Princess complete with her snow castle. She will dance and sing along with animals from the nearby forest to celebrate her icy Christmas. Look out for QR codes that will be shown amidst the shows and scan them for a chance to redeem gifts from CHIJMES!
Adding to all that festivity are roving Christmas musicians, carollers and mascots making their stops along the many lifestyle and dining outlets to add proper cheer as you wine and dine.
